Oh there are plenty of local gift ideas out there!  But since we are celebrating 30 Days of Local Wine this month, I decided to focus on a few ideas for those lovers of wine out there.

Of course you can always head out to our wineries to pick up a few bottles, but what you may not know is that most wineries also have gift baskets.  A super easy gift idea.  They will customize a basket to suit your needs and budget.

The WindsorEats Wine Clubs make a great gift for those that love wine.  You can purchase one of our sessions for $30 or buy all four Wine Club sessions for $110.

The Wine Club sessions are also a great alternative to staff parties.  They are interactive and lots of fun and make a great outing for a group of friends, coworkers, special event.  Just email us at info@windsoreats.com and we can help you sort out the details.

All the Wine Club sessions take place at Mezzo Ristorante, 804 Erie Street where we are treated to tapas and eats to compliment the wines we are drinking.   Wine Club dates are:

  • January 20 – Pinots & Merlots
  • February 17 – Fruit Wines
  • March 17 – Beers of the World (for St. Paddy’s of course!)
  • April 17 – Regions of Italy

Now while our award winning Wine Trail Rides don’t actually start up until May, you can purchase tickets now!  Our dates have been set and are for sale.  Each Wine Trail Ride costs $35 and includes visits to 2-3 wineries, tastings, tours and a meal made with local Essex County products.  We ride our bikes through our fabulous county.

These types of rides are popular in regions such as Niagara but normally cost a minimum of $90 and are self guided.   Not only are our rides led by our enigmatic guide Chico, but we also have a support vehicle that follows along and collects the wine participants purchase along the way.

Know someone that is into cooking?  Black Kettle Bistro is offering up cooking classes.  And don’t forget, that gift certificates are also available local restaurants.

So there you have it.  Tons of great local ideas for gifts!
