Mettawas Station Mediterranean Restaurant

There’s nothing better then dining al fresco, out on the patio with the wind blowing in your hair, the smell of the outdoors. But Anthony Del Brocco of Mettawas Station in Kingsville is taking it to another level hosting Winter Wonderland, an outdoor feast in the middle of winter on January 28, 2011.

“We were looking for a different kind of event to add a little bit of excitement to the January blahs,” Anthony explains. “What better way than to dine outside and enjoy some wine with your friends. Our guests thoroughly enjoy the experience and uniqueness of this event.”

Unique it is. The menu for the event is always a surprise but are always a mixture of classic and creative. Last year Wild Boar was on the menu. The meal will be 6 courses: an appetizer, soup, salad, pasta, main and dessert and will feature seafood, poultry, red meat and a vegetarian dish.

“We always try to create our menu thinking outside the box to make a tantalizing and memorable experience,” he says. “You never know, if the dish is a raving success it may even appear on our regular menu.”

For those worried about the elements, fear not. The restaurant does have patio heaters and enclose the area with trees to block the wind.

Tickets now available $100 per person and includes dinner and a wine pairing with each course. All wines used during the event will come from an Essex County winery.

If you are interested in reserving your tickets call Mettawas at 519-733-2459. Keep in mind the restaurant will be closed for first 2 weeks for January but if you leave a message Anthony will get back to you. As always, when booking before sure to let him know WindsorEats sent you.
