If you haven’t heard Open Streets is hitting the streets of Windsor this summer. WindsorEats has been on the planning committee and we are very excited to to be a part of the longest street closure in Windsor’s city!
What is Open Streets?
On July 17 and September 18 2016, the city will close nearly 8km of road to allow for people to walk, cycle and enjoy a street without cars. There’ll be lots of activities along the route that will encourage active recreation, arts, culture and celebrate our wonderful city. It introduces people to a new way of experiencing the street and participating in healthy activity. It encourages residents to participate in recreational, healthy living.
Want to get involved? How can you make this event a success? Have an idea that you want to implement? Then come out to the Open Street brainstorming sessions this week. The Open Streets Windsor committee is looking for your ideas! The event only succeeds with the community’s enthusiasm and participation.
The first brainstorm session takes place tonite and two more will follow.
