Raise your glass to Canada’s 150th this July 1 with one of the greatest gifts the country could have given food and drink lovers: Canadian whisky!
WindsorEats will be hosting a Drinks of Walkerville walking tour, named an Ontario Signature Experience, on July 1, 2017. The tour brings its guests through an exclusive tour of the Hiram Walker distillery, home of J.P. Wiser’s.
After a hands on tour of the largest distillery in North America, where you’ll be able to taste directly from the 6 storey fermenting tanks, guests will make their way inside the J.P. Wiser’s Brand Centre for a tasting of five different whiskies, one of which you get to pull directly from a barrel yourself.
You’ll also learn a lot of folklore and tales of the rum running history of the area on the tour on the way to tasting award winning beers at Walkerville Brewery and learning a thing or two about craft cocktails at The Willistead Restaurant.
So after the Canada Day Parade makes its way out of Walkerville, send the kids home and saunter over to us for some adult celebrations of a great 150 years.
