There are many ways to celebrate Mom in Windsor-Essex, so we’ve compiled some ideas for all those procrastinators out there still needing and wanting to get their Mom and Mother’s Day gift.
Take Mom To An Event
Serenity Lavender Farm will be hosting a Mother’s Day Tea on Saturday, May 10, 2014 from 1:00pm – 3:00pm. Tickets are $25 plus tax. Call 519-984-2684 to reserve. Advance tickets only. Thyme to Go will be providing sandwiches such as Cucumber Mint and Egg & Watercress as well as lavender English scones and a selection of desserts and teas and coffee.
If you act fast, Caesars Windsor may also have some space left for their popular Mother’s Day Brunch on Sunday, May 11.
A Lovely Meal at Home
Want mom to sit back with her feet up at home but don’t necessarily want to cook yourself? Pick up a meal from Just Jeff’s. Jeff White and his staff prepare gourmet meals daily with a packed and sealed, ready for pickup. All you have to do is drop the packages in boiling water and voila, you can sneakily tell everyone you spent hours in the kitchen making it yourself.
With fantastic weather forecasted for this weekend, you could also go the more traditional route and have a BBQ with some steaks from The Butcher of Kingsville or sausages from Robbie’s Gourmet Sausage Co.

Is Mom A Coffee Lover?
If mom isn’t “mom” without her caffeine fix, try visiting Salute Espresso Bar to pick up a variety of coffee related gifts. From fresh roasted beans from Whipsaw Coffee Roasters, to Salute’s uber tasty Cold Brew coffee drink or even some specialty Marou chocolate, there is a variety of items to choose from.
You can also visit Anchor Coffee House and pick up some custom made cups and saucers which are locally made.

Odds are, your mom at one point may have had to drink a glass or ten to help her get through a hack of a day that you dragged her through.

Chardonnay drinking moms will enjoy the 2012 Unoaked Chardonnay from Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery. It give hints of tropical fruits like banana and bright citrus hints. The palate smacks of juicy melon, apple and a clean finish of citrus. Priced under $15, this refreshing white is great with lighter fare or just on the patio.

Take advantage of Williams Food Equipment‘s big Open House Sale, which ends May 10, 2014. There are some great sales to be had, including saving 20% on the popular La Creuset items.
