As the frosty grip of winter slowly loosens its hold and spring slowly makes it’s arrival there’s a delightful event on the horizon that promises to celebrate the seasonal transition in the sweetest way possible. March is Maple Month and each year John R Park Homestead celebrates with the Maple Syrup Festival.

Taster’s Weekend takes place Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17. Visitors can taste various syrups, participate in winter hikes, kids activities, crafters’ market, and the Maple Market featuring innovative delights and trusted favourites.

Calling all Bakers!

This weekend the event hosts it’s annual Butter Tart Competition. They are calling on home bakers and professionals to submit their very best butter tart.

Prizes will be awarded in 4 categories : Amateur Baker Traditional, Amateur Baker Creative, Professional Baker Traditional, and Professional Creative. All tarts must contain pure maple syrup or maple sugar. Entries to be dropped off this Friday, March 15th. Judging and winners will be announced during the #MapleFest on Saturday, March 16th.
