Last Thursday I headed out with a group of friends to check out the animated documentary Waltz with Bashir and have dinner at Mancuso’s Trattoria as part of the WindsorEats.com and Windsor International Film Fest’s Flick and a Feast series.
Fantastic! I was so pleased to find out that the first screening at 7pm had sold out and a second screening at 8.45pm had been added.
As usual, I was running late but the tickets were waiting for me at the Art Gallery‘s Uncommon Market, which by the way, if you’ve never been, go. Love this shop. LOVE. Beautiful jewellery, home decor, unique gifts. It’s one of those little stores that you could spend hours in finding all sorts of beautiful and interesting items scattered throughout the shop.
So before heading in to see the film, we picked up a few drinks and munchies at the “concession”. Anthony Dalupan of Bamboo Catering was selling home made potato chips and fresh baked, warm, soft and ooooey, goooey good cookies. They were deeeeeeelish!
After Waltz with Bashir we headed down to Erie Street for our feast at Mancuso’s and just a fun night out.
We hear a lot of doom and gloom in the news lately, but there are so many things going on in this city right now that are positive and need to be celebrated and I really think this is one of them. It’s a wonderful partnership between so many people who believe that this city has a lot to offer.
Packages are already selling for the April 16 screening of The Class. You get a ticket to the screening and dinner at one of the participating restaurants all for $35. It really is a great deal.
