The sun was shining and the temperature didn’t dip too low making for perfect conditions for our free Valentine’s Day Skate yesterday held at Lanspeary Park. An estimated 150 people showed up to show some love.

Blak’s Bakery, located at 1022 Langlois just off of Erie St. E., donated 2 humongous boxes of Paczki which we handed out for free to anyone who showed up. They were a hit! If you don’t know what a Paczki is, you’re seriously missing out and should probably read this article we did back in 2008 about Fat Tuesday. Blak’s will be crazy busy this Tuesday (February 16, 2010 is Fat Tuesday), the traditional day Paczkis are served. Order yours today to make sure you get some and tell them WindsorEats says hi! Call Blak’s at 519.254.6346.

Keep an eye out in the coming days as Blak’s Bakery will soon be an addition to WindsorEats!

Made in Windsor made the trek down the road to be a part of the skate. Thankfully, since they are located at 1465 Ottawa St., bringing all their good to showcase wasn’t too hard. They had some awesome shirts and mittens available and I think I may have even found Jillian a birthday gift.

Slice of Style was also participating in this years skate selling and allowing people to sample their delicious hand-dipped chocolate covered strawberries.

Pina and I would like to give a big, special thanks go out to Kelly and Bonnie at Slice of Style, Christine and Adam of Made in Windsor, Tony from Blak’s Bakery, Jillian for braving the colder and handing out hot chocolate and apple cider, everyone who came out and skated and Sean for showing up late, but, making up for it by bringing Pina flowers and pretty much doing most of the tear down.

Thank you, everyone!
