WindsorEats is thrilled to feature Barret Melanson as our Artist of the Month for December 2025, showcasing his vibrant acrylic works from December 1–28.
Melanson is a mostly self-taught artist whose journey has been guided not by formal structure, but by an unwavering connection to creativity and intuition. Though he briefly attended the University of Windsor’s Fine Arts program, the traditional path didn’t resonate. Instead, he chose a more organic route—one defined by curiosity, exploration, and personal evolution.
For the last twenty years, Melanson has devoted himself to independently creating art and nurturing a deeper relationship with his inner world. His acrylic paintings, often rich in emotion and movement, reflect this ongoing dialogue between spirit and self. Each piece is an expression of his belief that art is not simply made—it is felt.
The heart of Melanson’s practice lies in the joy of creation and the love of sharing. These values fuel every brushstroke, inviting viewers to connect not only with the finished image, but with the energy and intention behind it.
