Ready for your eyeballs to do the happy dance? WindsorEats is beyond excited to unveil a brand-new twist: turn our Food Hall into an art gallery! We’re giving two amazing local artists three weeks each to bathe our space in their creativity—and it’s gonna be awesome!
Artist #1: Niku Koochak – September Takeover
First up in September: Niku Koochak. This Windsor-based multidisciplinary powerhouse has architecture roots from Tehran, where she was born and raised, and is currently completing her MFA in Visual Arts at the University of Windsor. Her work dives deep into abstract painting, calligraphy, and drawing performance, exploring themes of self-complexity and identity paradoxes. She’s even bagged the prestigious Warner Lambert scholarship for excellence in printmaking.
Opening night? Think live art magic. Niku will host a launch reception where you can mingle with her, get inspired, and watch her in action. And the excitement doesn’t stop there: on September 20, as part of the Electric Avenue Alley Party, she’ll put on a live art performance while her pieces literally come alive on our walls.
Artist #2: Emma Chlumecky – October Showcase
Then we’re rolling into October with Emma Chlumecky, a whimsical, wildlife-influenced multidisciplinary artist and current BFA student in Visual Arts at the University of Windsor. Emma’s creations are dreamy, nostalgic, and nostalgia-tinted—she captures the bittersweet feelings of growing up, the quiet echoes of memory, and the delicate blur between innocence and change.
Her oils and fiber-art hybrids float like magical realists’ daydreams, inviting viewers into nostalgic, otherworldly worlds. Think vibrant, emotional escapism that makes your heart go aah. Her painterly style uses texture and softness to gently tug on your feelings and memories.(Emma Chlumecky)
