519 Day is back and we’re going BIG. As tradition demands, we’ll be raising a glass (or five) to some of our favourite hometown heroes by naming custom cocktails after them. And trust us, this year’s honourees are absolute beauties.
But first — in case you’re new to the party, here’s the scoop: While 519 Day technically falls on May 19, we celebrate it on the Saturday closest to it. This year, that’s Saturday, May 17, 2025. From 1pm to 11pm, we’re throwing down at WindsorEats Food Hall and spilling out into the streets.
We’re even closing and licensing the Electric Avenue alleyway for the day, turning it into a vendor market where you can stroll, sip, and shop to your heart’s content. The market kicks off at 2pm and runs alongside a full lineup of live entertainment, DJs, eats, cocktails, and general Windsor shenanigans all day long.
Now — onto the stars of the show:
🍓 Meg Roberts — Siesta

AM800’s Meg Roberts is a proud tequila and grapefruit girlie, so we whipped up a drink that’s basically a love letter to her taste buds. With reposado tequila, fresh grapefruit, strawberry sweetness and a little bitter kick, this one’s bright, refreshing, and made for sunny alleyway hangs.
🍊 Irek K — Bicycle Thief

The former Windsor-Tecumseh MP (and gin & tonic devotee) gets a drink that’s bold, crisp, and dangerously easy to drink. Expect gin, citrus, a splash of Campari and a pop of bubbles to keep things extra lively.
🍍 Ryan Richardson — Rum Swizzle

The man behind We Dine & Ride gets a tropical nod to his Bermudian roots. This one’s loaded with rum, pineapple, orange juice, bitters and a little grenadine magic. Rum lovers — this one’s your move.
🥃 Jen Brignall Strong — Wicked Behaviour

Food writer, takeout slinger and lover of all things whisky, Jen’s drink is smooth, bold and slightly mischievous. Featuring Canadian whisky, a little elderflower, Aperol, honeyed citrus and a few surprises, it’s basically a personality test in a glass.
