Grab your dancing shoes and stretchy pants, Windsor — the biggest Cinco de Mayo party in the region is coming back to town, and it’s going to be an absolute fiesta!
WindsorEats is once again throwing Windsor, Ontario’s biggest Cinco de Mayo celebration, and trust us — you don’t want to miss out on this one. Here’s everything you need to know to eat, drink, and dance your way through one of the city’s most fun and flavour-packed parties.
📅 When Is It Happening?
Mark those calendars, amigos! This cinco-day (see what we did there?) celebration is happening May 1 to May 5, 2025.
Here’s the full party schedule:
- Thursday, May 1 | 5pm to 9pm
- Friday, May 2 | 5pm to 11pm
- Saturday, May 3 | 12pm to 11pm
- Sunday, May 4 | 12pm to 9pm
- Monday, May 5 | 12pm to 9pm
Yes — we’re opening on a Monday just for this party (and for lunch, too!). Day drinking is practically encouraged. Margaritas are basically fruit salad, right?
📍 Where Is It Taking Place?
All the action is happening at the WindsorEats Food Hall, located at 400 Erie Street East, Windsor, Ontario.
We’re transforming our space into a taco-loving, margarita-sipping, music-pumping fiesta zone for five glorious days of pure fun.
💸 Does It Cost Anything To Attend?
Not a single loonie! The event is free to attend and it’s family-friendly too. Bring the whole crew, including your abuela. She’s gonna love it.
🌮 What Food Will There Be?
What’s a party without food? There’ll be loads of Mexican cuisine to crush all weekend long.
- Rico Taco is bringing back their famous carnitas tacos and the much-loved elotes (that’s Mexican street corn smothered in mayo, queso fresco, and Tajín for those wondering). The elotes will be available starting Friday.
- Of course, Rico Taco’s regular menu of birria tacos, fish tacos, and more will be waiting for you, too.
- Feeling like switching it up? Kaeru Snack Bar and Dosa Mosa will also be slinging their eats if, for some wild reason, you find yourself all taco’d out. (Is that even possible?)
- Kaeru Snack Bar will be offering up a Mexi Mac n Cheese, complete taco beef, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, jalapenos, and crumpled fritos on top.
🍹 Will There Be Margaritas?
Obviously! Would it even be a WindsorEats Cinco de Mayo party without margaritas?
We’ll have four different types of margaritas ready to go. Can’t pick one? No problem — grab a margarita flight and taste them all. Fair warning though: those flight boards go fast and are in limited quantity!
We’re keeping things smooth and snappy with a limited drink menu focused on margaritas, mojitos, and beer, so you can spend more time sipping and less time waiting.
Bonus:
We’re rolling out The Traveller, our mobile bar, on the patio to serve up classic margaritas so you won’t even have to leave your sun-drenched spot to grab a drink. It’ll also be pouring Sombrero Cerveza from Frank Brewing Co. and a Cerveza de Rose City from Rose City Beer Works to keep the good vibes flowing.
🎶 What About the Music?
We’re bringing the Latin beats all weekend long. Here’s the music lineup to get you moving:
- Friday, May 2
🎶 7:30pm – 10:30pm | Sabor Latino Band - Saturday, May 3
🎶 2:45pm – 5:00pm | Transeo
🎶 6:30pm – 9:30pm | Sabor Latino Band - Sunday, May 4
🎶 5:00pm – 8:00pm | Sabor Latin Band - Monday, May 5
🎶 5:00pm – 8:00pm | Sabor Latino Band
Get ready to move those hips and shout “¡Salud!” with every beat drop.
🤔 Are You Expecting It To Be Busy?
Absolutely. Last year, we had a lineup before the doors even opened. So if you’re hoping to snag a table or a flight board, best plan to arrive early. As always — we don’t take reservations.
🍸 Will You Still Have Happy Hour on Thursday & Friday?
Heck yes! If you roll in between 5pm and 7pm on Thursday and Friday, you can score:
- $3 off margaritas
- $2 off beers
- $3 off cocktail flights
It’s the happiest happy hour in town.
