Big Brothers Big SIsters Windsor Essex is proud to announce the new format for this year’s annual Battle of the Hors D’oeuvres event titled, ‘Amuse Your Bouche’.
This year’s Battle takes place on April 26, 2012 at the St. Clair College Centre for the Arts with tickets going for only $75 per person. The Battle is a ‘friendly competition’ between chefs across Windsor-Essex including WindsorEats members:
- Chanoso’s Restaurant
- The City Grill
- Oishii Sushi Bar
- The Original Tecumseh Roadhouse
- The RyeGate Steakhouse & Lounge
The new approach for the event is all about interaction. The evening will start with a Pre-Amuse at 6:00pm which will have hors d’oeuvres prepared by local high school culinary arts students. The Amuse Your Bouche food competition will start at 7:00pm and will include 12 local restaurants and hospitality/epicureans and three wineries including WindsorEats members Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery and Pelee Island Winery.
Another twist to the event will be that food stations will be in the main event hall so guests can meet and mingle with the chefs and work their way around the room.
“I am very excited about the new format of the event. The committee has really worked hard to create a more casual atmosphere that everyone can enjoy. No need to spend hundreds of dollars on gala gowns and suits, just come as you are and enjoy great wine and food,” says Sherri Hamelin, Event Committee Chair.
