Over 30 Vendors to Showcase Windsor-Essex this Weekend

The Downtown Windsor Farmers’ Market opens its second season this weekend with more than 30 local vendors celebrating the best of Windsor and Essex County with fresh, local produce, area artisans and entrepreneurs, baked goods and prepared foods, and live entertainment.

The market’s grand opening on June 12th starts at 8am with “Windsor Blooms”, a theme that includes garden-related demonstrations and local perennial plants. The day will also include draws, live entertainment and more.

Market goers will be happy to see many familiar faces with returning vendors like Bradley’s Potatoes, C’Est Bon Nuts, Koehn’s Farm Market, The Fruit Wagon, Our Farm Organics, Specialty Bakery, Perry Noia the Clown and others. New additions this year include meat, fish, gluten-free baked goods, pony rides and unique entrepreneurs.

The market’s focus is fresh, local and seasonal and organizers hope that the community will use the space as a gathering place. “We have prepared food vendors so you can get breakfast or lunch, sit down with a drink and enjoy the entertainers,” says entertainment coordinator, JoAnn Sabourin.

The Downtown Windsor Farmers’ Market starts on June 12, 2010 and runs from 8am to 1pm every Saturday until October 30, 2010.
