30 Days of Local Wine – Day Twenty Four: Black Bear Farms and Estate Winery, Gooseberry Wine

Yes, gooseberries grow here in Essex County, usually two varieties: green and red. It was with the red that William Rondelez, one of the Black Bear Farms & Estate Winery‘s brother and sister duo, made their Gooseberry wine.

The Gooseberry wine is yet another new wine being released by Black Bear just in time for the holidays and it would be a great conversation starter as you gather with friends and family this holiday season. It is unique and can be paired with dinner such as a beef tenderloin, pasta or really what ever you are having! It can also easily stand on it’s own too, as your guests enjoy your company.

The Black Bear Gooseberry wine is 11.6% alc./vol and retails for $20 a 375ml bottle.

Just a reminder that there will be no 30 Days of Local Wine post tomorrow, Christmas Day, as we will be spending all our time celebrating the presence of friends and family. 30 Days will continue again on Saturday, December 26, 2009.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everyone!
