30 Days of Local Wine – Day Three: Aleksander Estate Winery, 2008 Unoaked Chardonnay (VQA)

If you’re looking for a true local wine, Aleksander Estate Winery‘s 2008 Unoaked Chardonnay (VQA) is made with 100% Lake Erie North Shore Chardonnay grapes. It is a dry wine with aromas of golden apple and rose water and is refreshing yet soft.

“This wine has a wonderful bouquet. Flowery and fruity and some hints of melon. Also some very nice wine tears which is a good sign” explains Gary Killops of EssexWineReview.com.

This wine works well both as a palate cleanser in creamy rich dishes and as a complement to fresh vegetables, roast chicken and turkey. This wine is a must for the Christmas season.
