I always love stopping by Butcher of Kingsville or the The Cheese Bar to pick up a few hunks of artisanal cheese, maybe some chorizo or Robbie’s Gourmet Sausages. Let Them Eat Cake

If eating an entire cake in one sitting isn’t your thing (although I can’t imagine why), Sugar Spoon Bake Shop is offering up Valentine’s desserts that include chocolate covered strawberries, macarons, heart shaped cookies. But just in case you DO want to eat an entire cake…they have that too.
Coffee Talk
After the cake, comes the coffee. It doesn’t have to be about fancy gifts and exuberant plans but more about just spending time together. Head to the local coffee shop and spend an hour or two sipping lattes and chatting. Taloola Cafe and Anchor Coffee House are a couple great places to have a cuppa, a bite to eat and stare lovingly into each others eyes.
Weekend Getaway
Spend at weekend in the county and have a fun day tasting and touring the wineries. Book a night at Stone’s Throw Cottage (which is literally a stone’s throw from Oxley Estate Winery….perfect? Yes). Have lunch at Jack’s Gastropub or Mettawas Station Mediterranean Restaurant. If wine ain’t your thing, then tour the growing number of breweries we have in the city.
Breakfast
I love breakfast. More specifically, I love when I don’t have to make breakfast. If dinner doesn’t make it into your Valentine plans, then head out for breakfast or brunch. The Squirrel Cage does an amazing brunch menu and you can even challenge your partner to a game of skill with one of the board games they have.
Carrots n Dates is always posting photos on their Instagram of amazing stacks of pancakes. Trust me when I tell you, they are as delicious as they are beautiful. Take your foodie photo and dive in to them. You won’t be disappointed.
