A tall, cold, refreshing glass of Richard Simmons.

So here’s how the story goes.

Anchor Coffee House was all set to showcase our collaboration drink, The Richard Simmons. We invited the popular coffee bar to tell the world about their fruity and refreshing take on an Arnold Palmer (it uses Cascara tea!) on our CTV Windsor segment with Arms Bumanlag.

It may or may not have been because I was already celebrating it, but, since it was National Rum Day on Tuesday I was adamant we acknowledge and celebrate it during the segment as well. While we cannot confirm nor deny this part of the story. Either way, one of the greatest, most refreshing drinks was born: A Hard Richard Simmons.

The Richard Simmons, a collaboration between Anchor and WindsorEats, is our take great classics like the Arnold Palmer. It’s a combination of fresh made limeade, organic sugar cane and iced cascara tea (made from the cherries on the coffee plant).

The flavours of rum blend perfectly with the limeade and sugar cane making an insanely refreshing beverage that will keep you topping your cup.

Now, because of this revelation, Anchor Coffee House wants you to take the Richard Simmons home in a growler. Yup. You heard right. We want to give you the opportunity to enjoy a hard Richard Simmons on your backyard deck with a splash of rum. Maybe two if you like it stiff. You won’t regret it!

Anchor Coffee House is currently the only place in southwestern Ontario currently serving Cascara tea.
