Licia Ruby Food Company is on the verge of an exciting expansion, and they’re looking to raise funds in a unique way…by engaging the community!
The local business, which makes some mighty tasty chocolate, are organizing an innovative micro-financing project using a farming CSA (Community Shared Agriculture) format. Like other CSA plans, a subscription entails a prepayment in return for future delivery of product. Meaning that what you donate in dollars you will get back in value and more.
Since receiving recent national coverage of their signature Roasted White Chocolate bars, they’ve had an influx of orders from all over Canada, and stores from across the country contacting them to start carrying the bars.
“The Windsor area has already been so encouraging and supportive and the response has been amazing to date.” Says owner and chef, Johnny Oran. “We believe that with attractive packaging, expanded flavor options and a shelf stable chocolate bar, this business can really grow! There is no other company in Canada selling a roasted white chocolate bar that we know of!”
To do this, they need the proper equipment: A chocolate tempering machine (which will keep the texture of the product stable for an extended period, without having to add any preservatives) as well as a lot more chocolate bar molds, larger equipment and new packaging.
One of the major draws to the chocolate, aside from the amazing and unique flavor, is the eye catching packaging. They are commissioning a local artist and designer to create packaging to match their distinct brand for their original roasted white chocolate bar, as well as the other 4 flavors that they’ll be launching during the expansion.
