The WindsorEats Traveller hit the road this past week

Over the last 5 days, WindsorEats took our Traveller on the road and hit up the Big Smoke: Toronto.

We felt it was time to show the GTA what a booming food and drink scene we have in Windsor-Essex so we rolled into the Gourmet Food & Wine Expo with several wines and beers from our region. After all, tasting is believing!

Being the only folks from Windsor-Essex at the show promoting our region to the over 40,000 attendees, we had to make sure we stuck out from the crowd. Our Traveller worked wonders.

Event goers flocked to us and the majority of the crowd were shocked to hear that Windsor-Essex has 18 wineries, 6 breweries (with 6 on the way) and 2 distilleries, not to mention a booming food scene. They were even more pleasantly surprised at how much they enjoyed what they tasted.

Once it hits your lips it’s so good!

We poured wines from Colio Estate Wines, Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery and North 42 Degrees Estate Winery while our taps flowed with beers from Brew including their Proper Lager and their oh-so-popular and tasty seasonal one-off, Ginger Ale. People loved it. Clear your mind of what a traditional ginger beer tastes like and think gingerbread cookies.

They loved us! They really loved us!

We even had some time to convince a young couple that getting married at a Windsor-Essex winery is a brilliant getaway wedding idea at a fraction the cost of Niagara or Prince Edward County.

We can’t wait to showcase the region again in January at the London Wine & Food Show! Get ready London, we’re coming for you!
