Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery serving at the 2013 Gourmet Food & Wine Expo

This weekend, several Windsor-Essex wineries travelled up to Toronto to take part in the 2013 Gourmet Food and Wine Expo.

Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery, Oxley Estate Winery, Cooper’s Hawk Vineyards and North 42 Degrees Estate Winery were all part of a larger group exhibit organized by regional tourism organization, Ontario’s Southwest.

“They are pleased with the response they are getting from being a part of the Gourmet Food and Wine Expo,” says Joanne Wolnik, Tourism Product Development Manager for Ontario’s Southwest. “It’s a show many of them would not have participated in on their own.”

Joanne mentioned that it’s a new market for some of them and the people they’re talking to are really interested in what the region has to offer.

“The show attendees who I have spoken with have been to Niagara and are looking for something new and different,” Joanne says. “Many are surprised by just how much there is in Ontario’s Southwest.”

Pelee Island Winery was also at the festival with their own separate booth.

Attendance for the show was over 45,000 people.
