Home Brewing Basics with Salute Espresso Bar

Most coffee consumption is happening right out of the comfort of your own home and 90% of home brewed coffee is done without the help of a fancy espresso machine. Things can get bland, and fast. That’s where Salute Espresso Bar wants to help you get the same quality out of your home brew as you would in their own coffee bar.

You’ll explore the proper methods, grind, brew temperature, time and ratios needed for French press, V60, Clever and Syphon.

Cost for the course is $15 per person. The next courses take place on February 21 and 28, 2013 at 7:00pm. Course is limited to 6 people max per session.

Drinks of Walkerville Tour

This tour has become a favourite and would definitely a hit with Don Draper as we start off at the Canadian Club Brand Centre as we take in the history of the building and brand before sampling the Mad Men character’s drink of choice, Canadian Club Whiskey.

After learning all the about history full of famous (and infamous) characters that were big fans of the Canadian Club brand, we take a stroll through Olde Walkerville discovering it’s architecture as well as some well known and not so well known tales associated with the area.

We then will visit Walkerville Brewery and sample their beers while being walked through the facility and learning about the brewing process.

From beer we head over to tequila as this tour will be the first to visit the newly opened The Willistead (formerly Walkermole). You’ll learn about the famous Mexican drink through the restaurants selection of tequilas.

The next tour takes place on Saturday, March 2, 2013. Tickets are $45 per person.
