Thanks to huge demand, our Bikes & Beers cycling tours are becoming a monthly thing.
The first “official” regular ride of 2012 will take place on Saturday, August 11, 2012 during Eat Your City Restaurant Week. We will be visiting Sweet T’s Soul Cookin’, Motor Burger and Rock Bottom Bar & Grill for some beer tastings and some treats to much on.
We’ll be sampling a wide variety of beer:
- At Sweet T’s we’ll be sticking with the homeland as Canadian-made beer will be the drink of choice.
- Motor Burger will provide us with their in-house brewed Model A and a surprise creation. Guests will also receive a sampling of one of their popular burgers.
- Rock Bottom will feature 4 samples of beer: Radler (Austria), Fruli (Belgium), Erdinger (Germany) and Delirium Tremens (Belgium). Two of these beers in particular grab my attention. Fruli is a natural Belgian wheat beer combined with pure strawberries. It has also won awards such as the best fruit beer at the World Beer Awards and the gold medal at the UK’s prestigious Food & Drink Expo. Radler combines Stiegl Lager with pure grapefruit juice. We figured Stiegl Radler was a perfect match for our own cycling tour as it is a beer whose creation stems from the local people who conceptualized the product – cyclists. Rock Bottom will also provide some finger foods to snack on during the beer tastings.
Tickets are now available for $60 per person. If you need a bike, fear not as we have bikes available for rent. If you’re looking for a unique experience, we also have tandem bicycles available.
Future 2012 dates also include Saturday, September 8, 2012 and Saturday, October 20, 2012.
