With April almost over and the arrival of May just days away, we here at WindsorEats are excited about more than just the nice weather settling it. May also brings to us the beginning of our cycle tour season with our Wine Trail Rides and Bikes & Beers cycling tours!

So dust off your bike and join WindsorEats on May 19, 2012 for our first award winning Wine Trail Ride of the year. We will be visiting Colchester Ridge Estate Winery, Erie Shore Vineyards and Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery, sampling some great (and some award winning) wines. We will have a cycling guide ride along with you and a support vehicle will follow to carry any purchases you make at each winery.

Tickets are $50 if you bring your own bike. If you don’t have one or would like to rent a tandem bike for a fun experience with a friend or loved one, we have those available for rent, too.  All tickets and bike rentals can be purchased here.

Bikes & Beers Cycling Tour

On Saturday, May 26, 2012, support a great cause while enjoying a scenic ride through Windsor, sampling Ontario beers and nibbling on eats from local restaurants on the Bikes & Beers Cycling Tour!

Last year’s event was a great success. We rode through the streets of Windsor, tasted great beers, ate amazing food, learned a little about our local culture and raised money for a great cause. We think this year’s tour is going to be even better.

Proceeds from the tour benefit Returns for Leukemia, a fundraiser held each May by United Food & Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 12R24 in partnership with The Beer Store to raise funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC).

Each location will host a brewer and participants will be provided with beer tastings and appetizers.

This year the ride will be visiting Rino’s Kitchen, Motor Burger and the new Walkerville Brewery.

With Motor Burger launching their own craft brew in early June, participants on Bikes & Beers will be the first to try the Motor Craft Ales brand!

The Bikes & Beers Cycling Tour includes a support guide, beer tastings, appetizers at restaurants and tours through some of the city’s historic neighbourhoods and landmarks. A support vehicle will also be on hand following riders through the streets of Windsor.

Tickets are $40 each with proceeds going to Returns for Leukemia. Please note, tickets sales end two days prior to the event day. Tickets are limited and sell quickly.

Tickets for Bikes & Beers can be purchased here.

May 26 & 27 2012, customers at The Beer Store are invited to donate all or a portion of their empty bottles (or cash), with 100% of the proceeds going directly to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada.
