Post your 2012 Winter Bites photos and video on our Facebook page or tweet with the #winterbites hashtag on Twitter. Share with everyone where and what you decided to eat, give feedback on other people’s photos and all that other social media stuff. There are so many choices that we’ll never be able to try it all so it’s up to you to show us what the rest of us might be missing out on.
Check-In At Your Winter Bites Location
Along with Facebooking and Tweeting your Winter Bites selections, use Facebook or Foursquare to “check-in” to your restaurant of choice and tag WindsorEats.com as being with you.
Attend A Winter Bites Event
The great deals at the restaurants are not the only thing going on during Winter Bites Restaurant Week. There will be a film screening at the Capitol Theatre of Mad City Chickens being put on by the Windsor Essex Community Supported Agriculture. The film begins at 7:30pm on Thursday, January 19, 2012. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased at Rino’s Kitchen, Taloola Cafe and ShopEco.
Mad City Chickens is a sometimes serious, sometimes whimsical look at the people who keep urban chickens in their backyards. From chicken experts and authors to a rescued landfill hen or an inexperienced family that decides to take the poultry plunge—and even a mad professor and giant hen taking to the streets—it’s a humorous and heartfelt trip through the world of backyard chickendom.
Also, all throughout the Winter Bites Restaurant Week Colio Estate Wines is hosting special tastings all week as part of the celebration as well. Join the fun and try Colio Estate Wines’ new fruit flavoured wine beverages: Girls’ Night Out Citursberry Twist & Darkberry Duet.
For red wine lovers, enjoy a tasting flight of four red wines accomanied by artisan cheese and crackers for $7.
Tours of the winery available daily: 1pm, 2pm & 3pm. $4 + tax per person.
Bring Your Friends and Family Out With You
The simple and original way to interact is in person with your friends, your family, your pets, some stranger you bumped into on the street. Whoever you feel like bringing along, have them tag along with you to your Winter Bites restaurant of choice. After all, the more the merrier!
