If you enjoyed the Flicks & Fare Food Film Festival (f5) that the Windsor International Film Festival and WindsorEats put on this past weekend, you’ll love this!

The Windsor Film Club has made agreements both with Janus Films/Criterion Collection and Chanosos Restaurant and Oishii Sushi Bar to bring biweekly on Monday evenings classic films, budget-priced, with all of the proceeds going to local charities, in an effort to create world-class cinephile experiences, both for the film student and connoisseur.

The films will be projected on a 10-ft. screen at the former Oishii site (don’t worry, Oishii is still open it just moved to the other side of Chanoso’s) beginning at 6:00pm. The experiences will be approximately 5 hours long. The group intends to have a film expert at each screening to introduce the two films and provide background information on the directors, stars and movies to enhance the experience even further.

The group has arranged to have 211 of the 354 films that Criterion Collection have the screening rights to, and are ambitiously seeking out the rest and seeking similar arrangements with other great film distribution companies.
