Less than a week to go until the beginning of our 2011 Eat Your City Culinary Week and Rino’s Kitchen is getting in on the fun!
The downtown Windsor restaurant is using a local approach on their menu sourcing the main ingredient from each course from Windsor-Essex.
“We want to celebrate the trip from the egg, stalk, vine, and earth through fire, the hand of the butcher and the baker to the plate” explains owner Rino Bortolin.
Rino mentions that he wants to showcase to Eat Your City customers his love of the food grown here in Windsor-Essex and how great it really is.
“I want to host people and talk about the food and region. ”
Rino’s Kitchen is also offering ‘Bring Your Own Wine’ with an $15 corkage fee and encourages you to enhance the local flavours with some Lake Erie North Shore wines.
On Thursday, August 4, 2011, the Eat Your City menu will be unavaialble as Rino’s Kitchen, in partnership with the Arts Council – Windsor & Region, is hosting a separate Eat Your City event. The ‘Garden Party’ will extend on Rino’s local menu and feature a locally sourced meal in their outdoor garden. Tickets cost $30 per person, and will be in limited supply. They can be purchased at the ArtSpeak Gallery at 1942 Wyandotte Street East, or through PayPal on the ACWR website. The office is open on weekday afternoons from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
