Over 20 people gathered on an empty lot on Sunday, May 1, 2011 to herald in the start of change for the community of Ford City.

The Ford City Community Garden, located on Drouillard Road, is a new initiative led by local food activist Steve Green of Windsor Essex Community Supported Agriculture (WECSA) and the New Song Church.

Many of you may remember Steve Green as the organizer of the monthly Local Good Food Box.  Well, he’s at it again. This time taking an old abandoned lot that was mainly used for illegal dumping and transforming it into a source of food and pride for the community.

You can learn more about the Ford City Community Garden and how to be involved on their Facebook page or their website.
