Winter Bites Culinary Week has ended!  Adriano and I want to thank every one who ventured out last week to participate and support this local event.  These types of events can’t happen without people supporting them!  We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did and we definitely loved reading the comments that many of you left on our Facebook and Twitter, letting us know where you were heading out to dine.

And a huge thank you to 93.9 The River and Global Machine Repair for sponsoring Winter Bites and Tweets, Beats and Eats!  Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

As Winter Bites came to a close on Saturday, our family decided to celebrate a great culinary week by heading out to Kingsville.  We picked Jack’s Gastropub to have our last Winter Bites meal for the year.

I was pretty excited about dining at Jack’s and just being in Kingsville.  There just seems to be this incredible vibe happening in this town lately.  Their mainstreet is really flourishing and there are phenomenal restaurants like Jack’s, Mephisto’s and Koi.  It’s vibrant and quaint and always seems to be bustling.

We all ordered from the Winter Bites menu.  I have to tell you about the Artichokes Parmesan that we had as our appetizer.  Amazing!  Artichoke hearts that were breaded and fried until crispy and surrounded by a spectacular lemon-dill sauce.  Soooooooo goooooood!

For the main, I went with the chicken coconut curry which had a mild, sweet flavour.  I have to be honest that I was so full from the artichokes that I couldn’t finish my main.

Then there was dessert.  It’s the second time I’ve had creme brulee in the past week and both times were spectacular.

Getting together for the last Winter Bites meal is now a tradition in our family.  It’s something I look forward to every year.

Now it’s time to start preparing for our next culinary week in August: Eat Your City!
