The Manchester

Movember is drawing to a close and The Manchester wants to end it in style.

For all those who don’t know what Movember is and thought they were living in the 1970’s over the last month, it challenges men to change their appearance and the face of men’s health by growing a moustache to raise awareness for prostate cancer. You start November 1st clean-shaven and grow a moustache for the entire month. The moustache becomes the ribbon for men’s health, the means by which awareness and funds are raised for prostate cancer. Much like the commitment to run or walk for charity, the men of Movember commit to growing a moustache for 30 days.

Yes, it’s three days early, but on Saturday, November 27, 2010, if you’re looking to part ways with that friend who has been residing on your upper lip for the past month, The Manchester is holding a moustache shearing party to celebrate all the men who have donated their upper lip allowing all Movember participants to get shorn on stage in one last rally to make some more money to donate to Prostate Cancer Canada!

Also, during the month of Movember, The Manchester is running a special food item – The Lanny McDonald. “The Lanny” is a hot roast beef sandwich on a Brioche bun, topped with their homemade creamy horseradish sauce, pickles and tomato, served with a side of house salad, soup of the day or their famous house cut french fries, all for $8 with $1 from each “Lanny” sold going to Prostate Cancer Canada!

Not to worry if you want to save the ‘stache for another 3 days. You’re still invited.
